I might never have gone to Barcelona if not for my son's passion for tennis. In March 2010 he enrolled in a 2-month training regime at the Academia Sanchez-Casal on the outskirts of the city; and I went with him, staying for his first week of training.
During the time I spent in Barcelona we experienced extremes of weather, from clear sunny days to sudden and unexpected snow falls. We had opportunities to explore the city together; and when I was not at the Academy watching him training, I took the opportunity to explore the city on my own.
The photographs in this album are a mixture of travel and street photography; taken at random as we or I discovered the nooks and crannies of this beautiful city. They represent a visitor's view of Barcelona; a memento of our time there and a record of the things I saw that caught my eye. And my only regret is that I didn't have more time to spend getting to know the place and its people.
