The third in my personal annual photographic look at the railways of East Anglia.
This year I have increased the number of pages to 200 to accomodate a greater geographical and TOC coverage, with for example a brand new chapter on c2c. This has allowed me to also increase the general size of the 350 images and add an introduction.
Most of the major events in 2011 are encapsulated, including the introduction of the new Bombardier class 379 'Electrostars' onto Stansted Express duties, loco-hauled local passenger trains returning to Norfolk branch lines, 'Britannia' back on the GE and also the return of steam to the Southend line, a class 56 on the Harwich branch and much, much more. A complete preview of the whole volume provides a idea of of everything included.
An invaluable resource for the East Anglian railway enthusiast or professional, providing a handy reference for all the year's events.
A photographer for 35 years, working may way up from Canon cameras to Mamiya 645 and ultimately Pentax 6x7 medium format I have now gone full circle and I am back to using Canon again. I currently utilise Canon digital SLR's with L series lenses. Until recently the secretary of the Phoenix Railway Photographic Circle which I have been a proud member of for over 20 years now, attempting to push the envelope of progressive railway photography. Now living in Colchester, Essex after 26 years in Northampton I have swapped the gentle rolling hills of Northamptonshire for Constable country. Travelling the world and my own country extensively, I love the dramatic scenery of the American West, the Swiss Alps, the Tuscan hills, the Scottish Highands and the west coast of Ireland. Springtime in the Tehachapi Mountains of California and winter in the Mojave desert are my nirvana though.
