Seeds of Belonging discusses elementary school topics such as safe school; bullying and harassment; restorative practice; equity and inclusive education; pathways; character education; faith formation and virtues; diversity; well-being; mental health and perceptions; and health curriculum in education. The aim is to teach children positive pro-social behaviours in dealing with conflict or bullying situations as well as instilling confidence, resilience and cultivating culture and pride in discovering who they are.

Danielle Hyles is a Canadian author with Trinidadian heritage who is currently a school administrator with the Durham Catholic District School Board. This is her first children’s book inspired by the love for her only daughter, Vivien. She has also written a research-based educational leadership book entitled “Bridging the Opportunity Gap” for educators all over the globe. This book peeks children’s curiosity for careers and supports the home-school parenting pathways connection with a superhero twist of the dual role of mother and worker.
