I work with clay and mixed materials to create my sculptural illustrations. Through photography and digital editing, the finished images resemble stills from a stop-motion animation film. I believe the artistic elements in film can be further explored in illustration, and the amalgamation of the two can form an interesting visual experience for the reader.

I think illustrations are like launch pads of imagination; visual helpers to the images already evoked by the text. The ability to visit and see places and faces privy only to the individual imagining them will always be personal and unique. I hope that through the aid of illustrations, more stories can be discovered, especially those that are forgotten and lost to yesteryear. Those tales oftentimes can relate a number of timeless messages that many of us can still use reminders of today.
