Dayna Hanson is a choreographer, director, performer and writer based in Seattle, Washington. Hanson’s work has been presented by On the Boards, Fusebox Festival, REDCAT, Noorderzon Festival and others. Also a filmmaker, she wrote, choreographed and directed an episode of Room 104 on HBO; her debut feature film, Improvement Club, premiered in Narrative Competition at South by Southwest Film Festival. She received a 2017 MacDowell Colony Fellowship, a 2010 United States Artists Oliver Fellowship and a 2006 Guggenheim Fellowship, as well as grants from NDP, MAP Fund, NPN and others. With Gaelen Hanson, she co-directed the critically acclaimed, internationally touring dance company 33 Fainting Spells. Hanson is co-director of Base, a nonprofit art space in Seattle.
