I considered several titles for this book and finally settled on WILD PLACES. On these pages, I share some of my best images from the past several years. These images all have something in common; they are each frozen moments in time and place when I captured something that felt special to me. Henri Cartier-Bresson, the French master street photographer in his book titled, Decisive Moments quoted, “Cardinal de Retz, "There is nothing in this world that does not have a decisive moment". This sentiment has resonated with me as I have sought to capture these precious moments in my travels.

There is magic in these moments when time, place, light, color, and texture come together in perfect harmony in a composition of art, insight, and wonder when I can capture, preserve, and share them with others.

Wild Places is my way of overcoming the entropy of the world by artfully isolating and preserving beautiful decisive visual moments amid the chaos, disorder, and unpredictability of the world.
