Egyptian Zigzags is an exploration of an Egyptian brocaded tablet woven band dated to between the 7th and 15th centuries CE. It describes the original band in detail, along with what little context we have for it, giving instructions for reproducing it, with a further 154 drafts in a similar style, ranging from 4 to 80 rows long. Each draft is accompanied by a colour photograph of how it will appear when woven. Egyptian Zigzags is intended for weavers who already know the basic techniques of tablet weaving and would like to learn new designs, but a list of resources is given at the back for those who wish to improve their skills or find out more about the art of tablet weaving.
