Develop your band weaving skills with 70 traditional Swedish patterns. Building on techniques outlined in my book about Sámi Band Weaving, these examples are drawn from the Dalarna region of central Sweden. A chance purchase of a beautifully woven old band led me to research its history and analyse its amazing variety of woven patterns. I have made a number of YouTube videos about band weaving.

I am a designer/weaver who loves to use natural yarns in my work. I am researching the beautiful folk bands from the Baltic region. After visiting Sweden to examine the wealth of woven treasures in various museums, I became particularly interested in Sámi weaving. I have analysed many of their beautiful bands to enable them to be appreciated by a wider audience.
