Sobre o livro
This book is designed and created to inform the general public about Mongolian history through the exploration of a represented woman. Mongolia was once the largest of the Khans’ empire, stretching from China to Europe and the Middle East. Within its rich history, there are many warriors and heroic figures, not just male, but female figures, in The Golden Family of Chinggis Khan.
Khutulun, Chinggis Khan’s great-great-granddaughter, is one of the heroic women, noted for her skills in wrestling, archery and horseback riding. A Venetian explorer, Marco Polo, highlighted her strength and bravery, and described her as a fearless warrior. She is described to have been a beautiful and strong woman. Her radiant beauty attracted many suitors across the empire. However, Khutulun never felt the need for a husband. Her only desire was to accompany her father Qaidu in battles and become a leader of the Mongol army.
