At some point in our childhoods, we're surprised to learn our parents had lives before we came along. I don't remember when I first learned my mother had been married to someone else besides my dad. She had little to say about him. It has only been since her death that I've come upon more about them than she ever revealed in life. These photos, found in an album in the attic, say much about their years together.
