Princeton Buddhist Meditation Group

Princeton, NJ, USA

The Princeton Buddhist Meditation Group (PBMG), under the guidance of Anam Thubten, provides opportunities for practice, contemplation, and study of the Buddhadharma—the fundamental truth of our experience, as taught by Shakyamuni Buddha more than 2500 years ago.

PBMG was long directed by Ani Trime Lhamo (1928-2016), an American-born Buddhist nun. A practitioner of Tibetan Buddhism for some 40 years, Ani Trime originally studied with Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche, one of the first Tibetan Buddhist masters to teach in the West, and also practiced with a number of other Tibetan, Zen, and Theravada teachers. In 2006, Ani Trime guided the Princeton group to affiliate with Anam Thubten through Dharmata Foundation.

Trime was known and loved for her down-to-earth, straightforward Dharma talks, which placed great emphasis on meditation practice and everyday experience, and for her sense of humor and warmth. PBMG continues to practice in her memory.
