My first of six years spent in beautiful tropical Micronesia, on the island of Yap, one of the states of the Federated States of Micronesia, as a project engineer for the Yap State Dept of Public Works. I constructed airstrips on three remote islands, a tuna transshipment facility, a new classroom building, and various other projects.
