Sobre o livro
This book is the exhibition catalogue for 'Volcanic Puffs and Other Tales', an exhibition of paintings at George Billis Gallery LA.
Trine Wejp-Olsen's paintings, full of whimsy and mystery, depict dreamlike landscapes of volcanoes, and animals as the protagonist.
40 pages:
19 illustrations
Text by Tine Nielsen Fabienke
Preface by Tressa Williams
"I have always found volcanoes to be curious and fascinating inventions of nature. They are extremely powerful and uncompromising when blowing up, and yet so beautiful and pulsing, like a mountain with a heartbeat, when simply co-existing in the landscape of our lives. Small puffs, or outlet of steam, can keep the status quo. But when events are colliding or pulling apart, eruptions occur, for better or worse. The beauty of the eruptions is the future of renewal and growth, which follows in its footsteps. In my series ’Volcanic Puffs and Other Tales’, I am incorporating this co-existence into the pieces, and presenting the viewer with an experience of a moment, perhaps long time ago, but also possibly right now, within ourselves." - Trine Wejp-Olsen
