Mike Burton has travelled extensively in Italy and is an unabashed exponent of the Italian way of life. He first visited Venice in 1991 and became a part-time resident of the city in 2004.

His images reveals an eye for often overlooked detail. An interest in colour, pattern, texture and light make it possible for his work to capture the essence of the city’s enigmatic beauty: a city far richer in detail than it appears at first sight.
