Aeeshah and Kokomon Clottey are twin souls who have dedicated their lives to the pursuit of peace over conflict and love over fear. In 1989, they founded The Center for ArtEsteem (also known as Attitudinal Healing Connection, Inc.), opening up the bottom flat of their home to engage the West Oakland community in healing and creativity with the fundamental and radical understanding that racism is a life-threatening illness. Rooted in the 12 Principles of Attitudinal Healing, The Center for ArtEsteem creates a refuge for personal healing that is essential to creating broader community and societal transformation.
