Cody James Burgin is a family law and divorce attorney that practices in South Carolina while residing in Charlotte, North Carolina. Cody moved to Charlotte from Louisville, Kentucky, at the age of seven, and he has spent the majority of his life in the shadow of the Queen City. He studied creative writing with a focus on poetry at Appalachian State University before continuing to study law at the University of South Carolina.

Today, while practicing law, Cody continues to hone his poetry and work towards a better understanding of his own emotions through written expression. His most shrewd of editors, his cats, Pippin, Frodo, and Rosie, make their home in his humble abode, along with his late father’s bird, Charlie.

In his free time, when not writing or caring for his pets, Cody enjoys playing video games, such as World of Warcraft, playing and running Dungeons & Dragons, ice skating, snowboarding, and singing and dancing loudly to his favorite music.
