Nigel Lord is an English photographer who has spent most of his working life in the Caribbean. He first went to Jamaica as a schoolboy in 1969 when his parents moved to Jamaica to run a hotel in the sleepy village of Ocho Rios. It was then his passion for photography began with a small Instamatic camera at the age of 12.

After finishing his education in the UK he went to live in Trinidad and Barbados but it was not until he moved to Jamaica in 1983 when fate made him pick up a camera professionally and his first contract was to photograph and print assorted postcards for a large villa community.

This was the start of his passion to shoot the luxurious side of the tourism market so he embarked on a career shooting villas and hotels throughout the Caribbean.

As there were hardly any professional photographers on the North coast of Jamaica at that time, he was often commissioned to shoot weddings, sporting events, conferences, scout for Hollywood movie companies.
