The English Garden Fete photographs were taken between 1987 and 1989 during the annual Shillington Fete. The same people featured each year as the fete was a very small affair giving village people the chance to get together and have some fun, the main difference each year was the lighting, some sunny days and if I was lucky bright overcast weather.
The second half of the book features the American airbase Chicksands and the 4th july celibrations 1985/86.
I remember this as a happy time, people were relaxed and enjoying each others company.
