After a scary experience on a solo trip to explore the urban ruins of a city called Necropolis, Lexi Sidaway decides she needs some exploring buddies. A post to her blog brings her ex-boyfriend Austin Struthers, his brother Cody, and Zach Flagler, who she babysat as a teenager. When Lexi loses her job and apartment after the family business is sold, she makes a choice that could bring devastating consequences. Cody desperately wants to join older brother Austin in exploring abandoned locations, but his first outings don't go well. Austin discourages a determined Cody from continuing on while he attempts to reconnect with a stubborn Lexi. Zach's reunion with his former babysitter is awkward due to the circumstances over her dismissal. But the two soon bond over their shared grief and guilt from past events. As the story unfolds, the quartet explores a variety of abandoned locations as their relationships to each other and their shared hobby evolve.
