Everything is always already a reproduction since we can't perceive it until it is an image on the retina or beaten by the eardrum or impressed upon the nerves or classified by the tongue and nose. These are the primary media. These are the reproductive organs. Things have visible, audible, tactile and tasty qualities because we have devices to receive those kinds of information. Other devices would reproduce other qualities — qualities we don't even know exist.
