A spiritual virgin is one who gives birth to eternity through their life here on earth. This New Annunciation is a meeting between the angel of God announcing this possibility to a new Mary, a woman living in a poor Indian village. Conventional Christianity teaches people about the God of our ancestors, the historical God of the Old Testament, the God of the past. When Mary gave birth to Jesus she gave birth to a man who was the manifestation of eternity in time; she discontinued the God of the past and gave birth to the God of eternity. This is the calling of every human being. The angel announces to the new Mary that all people can give birth to the God of eternity and that all religions should be like a nest in which their followers are fed and nourished before being liberated from the religious chains of the past to fly into the unconditioned space of the eternal love of God. This New Annunciation proclaims a liberation and freedom for all people.
