本卷收录了我在2000—2008年间发表的99篇文章。与第一卷以学术论文为主不同，本卷收录的是非学术性文章。本卷文章形式多样，包括报刊评论、媒体专访、演讲稿以及个人博客，但内容均围绕世界经济发展的长期趋势与短期热点。本卷中许多文章集中写于金融危机爆发后的几年内，尤其是报刊评论和媒体专访，这与我的工作性质密切相关。 危机爆发时，我已任联合国经济与社会事务部负责全球经济监测工作的主管三年有余。
This volume contains 99 articles I published between 2000 and 2008. Unlike Volume I, which consists of academic papers, this volume selects non‑academic writings. The articles in this volume take various forms, including newspaper commentaries, media interviews, speeches, and personal blog posts, but they share a common focus on long‑term trends and short‑term hot (emerging) issues in the world economy. Many articles in this volume were written in the years immediately following the crisis, especially newspaper commentaries and media interviews, reflecting the nature of my work at the time. When the crisis struck, I had already served more than three years as the Chief for the Global Economic Monitoring in the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs.
