Sobre o livro
For Wayne Westfall, turning sixty meant he'd spent exactly half of his life as a quadriplegic. So on his 59th birthday he decided to mark this milestone by writing a poem a day for the next 365 days, and to publish it at the end of the year. Of those poems, he chose 59 and the result is SOUTH OF SIXTY, a collection that also features Wayne's original artwork.
Wayne broke his neck in a climbing accident in Alaska in 1979. While being paralyzed from the neck down, his is what he calls "a break of fortune" — a C5-C6 Spinal Cord Injury which allows him the luxury of being able to flex his wrists — which means he can type, hold a fork, a pen and a paintbrush.
The images were individually scanned and digitized by Wayne's friend, Janeson Rayne, who also designed and produced the book.
