Sobre o livro
Artist’s catalog including images from the "San Francisco in Jell-O" series by Liz Hickok, with an introduction by Glen Helfand.
In the "San Francisco in Jell-O" series Hickok makes elaborate scale models of city scenes out of Jell-O. She lights them from below, and brings them to life with photography and video. Earthquake-prone San Francisco, where Hickok lives, seems the perfect city to make out of the gelatinous material. She has also been inspired by other urban sites, including the White House and Las Vegas. Their fragility quickly becomes a metaphor for the temporary nature of our environment.
