Artist Statement

It’s the sensibility of being in a completely different place that allows my mind
To visualize extraordinary and vibrantly. I tend to sense something extravagantly different every time I arrive in New York, I get a feeling of optimism, I’m lost
And my camera is the map to finish the journey of ambition. These photos replicate 1/250th of a second of what I have seen, a stolen
moment of the subject, in who or what will never see me with my camera again.

TAVARES-DONOVAN is a young and talented newcomer in the art world, and has a relationship with photography that is un-breakable, which had started young being influenced by his grandfather who has been a professional for over 40 years. Graduating Rhode Island School Of Design’s Digital Photography Certificate program (2008), Don has also had private lessons with Francis Giles, (MFA, MIT, teacher: Minor White).
