Sobre o livro
Leo Rosser has described why and how he photographs the nude.
He believes that the nude female form is the most sublime form of artistic expression. He has made a study of the nude in art and photography. He presents the guidelines he uses to achieve artistic beauty in this sensitive line of work.
He has used some of his photographs to illustrate each point that he makes. In doing so, he celebrates the nude female form. He believes that only an immortal hand could have devised this most exquisite interplay of light, shape, line, form, and texture, so that it could express so much beauty, grace and emotion.
Leo Rosser wishes to express profound gratitude to the women who have lent their beauty and grace to this project. The women who feature are ordinary women, not on the whole experienced models, and some of them had never previously been photographed nude. Their photographs have hardly been retouched. These pictures reflect their real selves.
Leo has used lighting and he has set the women quite often in beautiful locations, but the beauty of these photographs comes from the extraordinary beauty that lies within each woman, and, Leo believes, exists in hundreds of other ordinary women. A woman, he believes, can be at her most beautiful in the demure and innocent nude.
