The work contained in this book traces the meandering path of a man with a machine that has the ability to freeze a moment in time. That moment is then interpreted by the eye of the practitioner. The camera records, and then my mind attempts to see the image within the image.
Abstractions of simple scenes can reveal interesting images. Even junk can be presented in an artful way. Reactions or emotions that emerge are the artifacts of the viewer's psyche. Common forms in nature can be perceived as reflections from the subconscious in our attempt to make sense of underlying patterns that appear naturally but might render an image of the unnatural. As humans leave traces of their presence, over time the earth has its way. It makes its mark, eventually covering ours. This is where the true face of nature can be seen. All the world is in constant transition. We leave a mark. The Earth takes it back.
