This book is a small collection of photographs captured around the Golden State, while on various assignments and personal trips, over a twenty year period.



Most images were captured while on assignment for various clients - travel magazines, environmental organizations, or private companies. A few were shot while teaching photographic workshops, and one or two during rare personal moments while camping or simply exploring.



The beauty of the art of photography is it never gets old, you continue to learn throughout your life, and there is always another amazing image just around the corner, if you are willing to brave the elements.



People often think, because I photograph nature, I completely love the enviornment. I don't describe it this way. I think of my experiences as a full relationship with nature, since I have moments of discovery, happiness, excitment, amazement, loneliness, fear, and frustration.



But through it all, a peace always falls over me when I photograph - it's a process for which I love and one that comes to me very naturally.
