Physis (Greek: φύσις) is a Greek theological, philosophical, and scientific term usually translated into English as "nature".

Jan Schilthuizen (1993, Leiden) is a Dutch photographer based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Schilthuizen studied architecture at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague. In 2013 he moved to Amsterdam to pursue his passion for photography. 

Having spent his childhood on the island of Borneo, nature has been a major source of inspiration for him. The photographic work of Jan Schilthuizen can be described as being estranged and mysterious, often portraying an unusual perspective on nature and people. Besides his landscape photographs, Schilthuizen also focuses on photojournalism and conceptual storytelling.
