A short history of Cojoyla (the association of Maya women weavers in Guatamala), including that of master weaver Maria Sosof. The book explores the genesis of this nonprofit group within the context of the Guatemalan civil war and the ever-growing threats to the local indigenous cultures in the lakeside town of Santiago Atitlan.
